Meet talented interior designer and founder of Luna Looms Rugs, Erica Surgent.

With years of experience designing interiors that feel both lived-in and luxurious through her business, Noel Design, Erica recently started a new chapter in her creative journey by launching Luna Looms Rugs. Her latest venture brings intention and artistry to one of the most foundational elements of a well-designed space: the rug.

As an interior designer, Erica has always believed that a rug is more than just a finishing touch. It sets the tone for the entire room. Luna Looms was created with that belief at its core. It’s a brand built around the idea that rugs should feel personal, purposeful, and grounded in the same care she brings to every interior she designs. Her love for design started at home, inspired by her Nana and her mom, and has grown through years of creating spaces that are both beautiful and livable.

At the heart of Luna Looms is Erica’s passion for working closely with her clients. Her design process is guided by confidence, clarity, and a deep sense of calm. She’s drawn to natural textures, quiet tones, and pieces that bring warmth and connection to everyday living. Rugs, in particular, have always held meaning in her work. They ground a room, define the space, and effortlessly bring everything together.

When asked about her biggest challenge, Erica shared that perfectionism is something she’s had to work through. Not in the sense of expecting everything to be flawless, but in how it can sometimes slow the process or cause hesitation.

A quote she returns to often is, “She will make beautiful things. Not perfect things. But honest things. That speak to who she is and who she is called to be.” That perspective helps her create with intention and stay connected to the heart behind her work.

Erica's advice for other women in business is simple but powerful. “The weird thing about bravery is when you are doing it right it feels like fear.” For Erica, learning to move forward in the face of uncertainty has been part of building something meaningful and lasting.

Outside of design, Erica enjoys playing tennis, spending time with her dog Miles (featured below), and grounding herself in nature. Her lifestyle and design philosophy are closely connected. Both are rooted in intention, ease, and the belief that beauty comes from within.
